Conditions we treat

1.Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the usual normal nerve entrapment syndrome and hits up to 10 percent of the population. The syndrome occurs when the central nerve in the wrist is compressed. The role of the median nerve called the carpal tunnel transmits signs for sensation and muscle action to the hands and fingers and when it is compressed, it cannot function properly.
Symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome include

  • numbness
  • pain
  • tingly sensation in fingers, wrists, and arms

You may have a problem doing catching and gripping activities because of discomfort or weakness.
2. Hand and nerve injury
The hectic lifestyle and our working culture often results  into minor cuts, pressure, stretching,  crush injuries which can damage the tissues in the hand. These sorts of injuries result most frequently from lapses, transport crashes, gunshot injuries, and other sources of physical trauma. Fire, chilling temperatures, electrical shock, transmission, and vibration can also cause hand nerve injuries.
The complex structure of the hand has three main nerves in the hand: radial, median, and ulnar. Each supplies sensation to and controls movement in different parts of the hand and fingers. Once injured the injured nerve cannot transfer nerve signals, creating a lack of awareness, movement, or both. Most of the nerve injuries may heal on their own while severe nerve injuries require surgical repair.
3. Wrist fracture
Wrist fractures occur most frequently due to falling and the end result is generally broken a scaphoid bone of  the wrist. In most of the cases, scaphoid fractures are frequently mistaken as sprained wrists.
Scaphoid fractures require casting or surgery. Strategy depends on the location of the fracture in the bone. Cracks located near the thumb recover well with casting as this area has a good blood supply. Fractures in areas of the scaphoid with a poor blood supply, as well as displaced fractures, generally require surgery.
